It starts with a real conversation
Dr. Fields wants to know where it hurts, when it began, what eases it, what aggravates it and what you have already tried. He then looks at your posture, checks pulse and tongue, and feels for tender areas, and explains what he finds without jargon.
What a pain session looks like
Very fine, sterile, single use needles are placed near the sore area and at supporting points elsewhere on the body chosen from your exam. Most patients simply rest while the needles do their work.
When tight muscle knots are involved, dry needling may be added. Cupping, electric stimulation and infrared heat are other options Dr. Fields may use.
