Your first visit at 811 North Coral Ridge Drive
Plan on a longer first appointment. Bring recent labs, your medication and supplement list, and notes from your rheumatologist or other physicians.
Dr. Fields will ask about your diagnosis, what a flare feels like for you and what tends to trigger one, then check pulse and tongue and do a hands on exam. Most people have their first treatment the same day and go home with a short written plan.
How the three approaches fit together
Acupuncture sessions are kept gentle and are adjusted to how your body feels on the day you come in. The aim is more comfort, better sleep and a calmer nervous system.
Herbal formulas are used with care and screened against any immune modulating or biologic medication you take. Some patients prefer to skip herbs entirely, and their plans work around that.
Functional medicine looks at food, gut health, sleep and stress, the everyday factors many people link to their flares. Changes are introduced a few at a time, with medical grade supplements only where they make sense.
Working with your doctors
Nothing here replaces your medical care, and you will never be asked to stop a prescription. With your permission, Dr. Fields is happy to share notes with your physicians so everyone stays coordinated.
